Staff Bios
staff bio: Derek Moore

What is your passion in ministry?

My passion is to see the story of our relationship with God communicated through creative mediums. Story can be told through art in many ways and that just excites me. I love the communication crafts of music, literature, film, and visual arts.

What qualities do you bring to your ministry?

I am very passionate about art and the stories it tells, so I have much experience in many of those mediums. I bring a constant search for new creativity that is relevant to our current culture, but not of it.

Tell us about your family.

I have been married to my wife, Libby, for over a year now and we are expecting our first child in February. My wife is from Australia and so we enjoy the international benefits of the commonwealth in our relationship.

How did you get involved with BVCC?

I have been attending Bow Valley back when we were Cambrien Heights. Growing up in the church and having parents heavily involved, (mother on staff and father on eldership) I have always been deeply rooted in the church and its many ministries from children's to youth to media and worship. I was asked to become part of the staff in August 2009 and have enjoyed bringing my creativity to the team.

What quote inspires you?

“With great power comes great responsibility.”

~Uncle Ben
