staff bio: Donna Heitman

What is your passion in ministry?

My passion is service and whatever the task to carry it out to the best of my ability.

What qualities do you bring to your ministry?

My gifts are in the area of administration and organization. I’ve worked in various positions in finance for businesses and the federal government. Owning my own business for three years also taught me a lot about dealing with the public as well as managing time and resources. I love working with the team here at BVCC.

Tell us about your family.

I grew up on a farm near Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan. and moved to Calgary in 1978 to attend Alberta Bible College. I met my husband, Dan, of 22 years at one of the evening classes (Personal Evangelism — there was something to look forward to in that class after all). We have two young adult children, Melyssa and Aaron.

How did you get involved with BVCC?

Just after Dan and I were married we became youth sponsors at the church, then known as Cambrian Heights. We moved to Sask. in 1984 and returned to Calgary in 1995. At that time there was a position available in the office here at Bow Valley and I’ve been here ever since.

What quote inspires you?

“I reckon on you for extreme service, with no complaining on your part and no explanation on Mine.”

I love Romans, chapter 12 as something to strive for in my daily walk with Jesus.
