What is your passion in ministry? |
Christ is my passion! It is so true, the verse In 1 John 4 that says "We love, because He first loved us." When we realize and receive the greatness of His love and His passion for us, our lives are changed forever. Then we are called to have com-passion, or, to have passion like Christ, and to love those in our midst. May we love like Christ, willing to lay down our rights and privileges and lives for others and ultimately Him. If we have never understood His love for us, it is impossible to love others. May we welcome His love and be satisfied forever and be a source for others to receive His love. |
What qualities do you bring to your ministry? |
Now that's a scary question! I am thankful that because of nothing that I have done but rather what Christ did for me, that I am qualified to partake in the inheritance of the saints (Col. 1:12). The qualities that I strive for are diligence, faith, moral excellence, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness, brotherly kindness and love, because of His promise that "if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they render you neither useless nor unfruitful in the true knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ." (2 Peter 1:9) |
Tell us about your family. |
I have 2 wonderful parents who have taught me unconditional and sacrificial love because of the way that they have lived. I have 3 sisters, and 3 brother-in-laws, and 7ish nieces and nephews whom I adore! It is in part by loving them, that I begin to understand the mystery of God's equal love for every one of us, because each one of them are so special and so unique and will always have my heart... |
How did you get involved with BVCC? |
I attended church off and on for years. But that was it. I went to church for what I got out of it, not realizing that I had anything to give to it. One day I read the passage where Jesus cursed and cut down the fig tree because it remained fruitless, and was convicted by His Spirit of the barrenness of my life. In short, my life was cut down. I came back to Calgary knowing that I needed to be a part of His church, and that by doing so I would discover who He has made me to be, as well as express my love for Him as I served His body, the church. |
What quote inspires you? |
"Do what you can, where you are, with what you have." ~Theodore Roosevelt"Tremble, you women who are at ease. Be troubled, you complacent daughters.... for the land of my people in which thorns and briars shall come up; yea, for all the joyful house and for the jubilant city. Because the palace has been abandoned, the populated city forsaken... until the Spirit is poured out upon us and the wilderness becomes a fertile field, and the fertile field is considered as a forest. Then justice will dwell in the wilderness, and righteousness will abide in the fertile field. And the work of righteousness will be peace, and the service of rightousness, quietness and confidence forever. Then my people will live in a peaceful habitation, and in secure dwellings and in undisturbed resting places..." ~Isaiah (32)
