What is your passion in ministry?

I have two passions in ministry. My first passion is Men’s Ministry. I believe that it is vitally important to the church that we connect men with each other and find them places to serve in God’s church. My second passion is towards community. It is by making the church an attractive community that we will draw others to it (John 13:35).

What qualities do you bring to your ministry?

I have 40 something years of life experience plus several years of paid and unpaid service in the church leading small group ministries and teaching adult education classes. Education: M.Div. (almost) Briercrest Seminary and B.A. Psyc. U of C.

Tell us about your family.

I am married to Rosemary and we have three grown children. Tyrell (27) builds computers, Jen (25) is in Sweden finishing her degree in nursing and Rod (23) is working in protective services at the Rockyview Hospital and going through the application process for the city police.

How did you get involved with BVCC?

I first learned of BVCC through Keith Shield’s now famous interview on 100 Huntly Street. I then met with Rick and pitched the idea of working here as well as at the different church plants for the internship portion of my M.Div. degree. Wouldn’t you know, he went for it.

What quote inspires you?

“I envision the church as people who are connected in small healing communities, connected by what they give to each other.”

~Larry Crabb
