Scripture Readings for
‘His Promises are Out of This World’ (March 15-20)

Monday — The Holy Spirit
John 14:15-21

The Spirit confuses many, yet He is a very big promise.
How does the Spirit work in your life?
Are you satisfied with your life in the Spirit?

Tuesday — The Fig Tree
Matthew 21:18-22

This is an amazing promise! How do you feel about it?
Use it to consider/measure your faith.

Wednesday — The Birth of Jesus
Luke 1:30-33

The angel promises humanity an eternal ruler and it starts with a young girl! Spend some time pondering Jesus the Lord.
Do you ever see instances of God working in 'small' ways?

Thursday — The Beatitudes
Luke 6:20-23

Jesus promises our character will be changed?
Which beatitude speaks most clearly to you?
Which beatitude do you need 'help' with?

Friday — House with Many Rooms
John 14:1-4

What is your picture of heaven? A city? A garden?
Take some time and think about your new home in heaven?

Saturday — The Vine
John 15:5-8
Two promises today: you will bear much fruit and you will receive what you ask for. Your role is to remain in the vine. How do you do that?
Think of the fruit you've produced.

Approach.
(This can take anywhere from a few minutes to ½ hour)

1. Take time to ask God to bless your reading.

2. Slowly read the daily passage in a readable and accurate version (i.e. NIV, NASB, NLT, KJB). Each reading is deliberately brief in order to allow time to be still while considering the text.

3. After reading, take a moment to consider the passage. Meditate on the world of Jesus, specific words, the listeners, context and/or the overall theme.

4. Pray regarding what the passage brings to mind.

5. Think about the text throughout the day. Perhaps a word or a simple phrase or maybe the theme can be drawn to mind. In other words, be open to what God is telling you to believe or do.

Notes.
• Following this time with the word, you may want to move into your usual prayer time.
• This approach is not meant to replace the study of scripture or the longer readings of the Bible.
• Our web site also provides these scriptures, along with questions for thought and consideration.
