Who is Rick?

Rick was born in Calgary back in 1953 and grew up in a pastor’s home, moving around Western Canada until he graduated from High School in Edmonton.  Shortly after graduation he and a couple friends moved to Calgary where he attended Alberta Bible College until receiving his Bachelor of Religious Education.  During college, Rick interned with Cambrian Heights Church of Christ and in the fall of 1975 he was hired as Associate Pastor.  The next summer he and Debbie were married and the following 34 years have been a blur!

For 20 years Rick served as Associate Pastor alongside Senior Pastor Allan Dunbar as the church grew and eventually moved and morphed into Bow Valley Christian Church.  During that time his roles evolved from Youth to Evangelism to Pastoral and then in 1995 with Allan departing, Rick became the Senior Pastor at BVCC.  Over those years he and Debbie have raised 3 sons and gained 3 daughters-in-law and are now the proud grandparents of 2 granddaughters!  Besides loving God and his Church, Rick loves sports, both watching and participating; he  enjoys reading, gardening, travelling and renovation projects and hopes to dabble in all of those during his six month sabbatical.
